About the Client
Uma Ornament is a growing organization where multiple teams operate simultaneously across different departments. Day-to-day work is distributed across several internal task systems, including checklists, delegated work, operational flows, and project-based activities.
As operations scaled, management needed a clearer way to understand where work was getting stuck, which users had pending responsibilities, and which departments required immediate attention—all from a single place.
The Visibility Gap in Daily Operations
Tasks at Uma Ornament were being created and managed across multiple modules. While each module worked independently, there was no consolidated view of pending work.
This created practical challenges:
- Pending tasks were scattered across systems
- Managers had to manually check multiple modules
- Department heads could not quickly assess workload
- No easy way to share task status with leadership
Most importantly, there was no single report that showed how many tasks were pending for each user and department.
What Uma Ornament Needed
The client wanted a clean, structured report that could answer one simple question instantly:
“How many tasks are pending today, and where?”
Their requirements included:
- A department-wise view of pending tasks
- User-level task visibility
- Inclusion of pending tasks from all key modules
- Automatic calculation up to the previous day
- A downloadable and shareable PDF report
They also needed clarity—every report row had to clearly mention the user name, department name, and pending task count by module.
Designing a Unified Pending Task Report
To meet this requirement, a custom reporting solution was designed and built directly within MIDAP (MI Digital Autopilot).
The focus was simplicity, accuracy, and usability.
One Report, Multiple Task Sources
The new report consolidates pending tasks from:
- Checklist
- Delegation
- FMS
- PMS
Instead of switching between modules, managers now access a single dashboard that brings everything together.
Clear User and Department Identification
Each row in the report displays:
- User Name
- Department Name
- Pending tasks for each module
- A grand total of pending tasks
This makes accountability transparent and removes ambiguity.
Accurate Pending Task Logic
The system calculates pending tasks up to the previous day, ensuring:
- The report remains consistent
- Daily fluctuations do not distort the data
- Managers get a reliable snapshot of backlog
Department-Wise Filtering
Users can filter the report by department to:
- Review specific teams
- Conduct department-level reviews
- Focus on problem areas quickly
PDF Export for Easy Sharing
The report can be generated and downloaded as a PDF, making it easy to:
- Share with management
- Use in review meetings
- Maintain documentation records
No screenshots, no manual formatting, no spreadsheets.
How the Report Works in Practice
For example, if a user from the HR department has:
- Checklist pending tasks: 2
- Delegation pending tasks: 2
- FMS pending tasks: 5
- PMS pending tasks: 5
The report displays:
- Department: HR
- Checklist: 2
- Delegation: 2
- FMS: 5
- PMS: 5
- Grand Total: 14
Everything is visible at a glance.
Impact on Uma Ornament’s Operations
After implementing the report, Uma Ornament experienced immediate improvements:
- A single source of truth for pending tasks
- Better workload visibility across departments
- Faster follow-ups and escalations
- Improved accountability at user and team levels
- Reduced dependency on manual tracking
Managers now spend time resolving issues instead of searching for data.
Turning Data Into Action
This department-wise pending task report transformed how Uma Ornament monitors productivity. What was once fragmented is now centralized, structured, and easy to share.
By combining multi-module data, intelligent logic, and PDF export, the solution supports better decisions and smoother day-to-day operations.
MIDAP continues to work closely with Uma Ornament to strengthen reporting, visibility, and operational control as their organization grows.
